The China National Institute for Education Research, a national education think tank directly under the Ministry of Education, is committed to serving decision-making, innovating theory, guiding practice, and coordinating the frontline, and undertakes the mission of providing intellectual support and consulting services for major national education strategies and policies.

Since its official establishment in 2014, the Future School Laboratory of the China National Institute for Education Research has launched the Future School Innovation Program, and has systematically and comprehensively explored issues related to curriculum reform, learning spaces, STEM education, data integration, maker education, personalized learning, personalized teaching, and AI education from the perspectives of practice and theory, effectively promoting the concept of future schools.

Since 2016, "Future Schools" has been included as a key point in the annual work of national education informatization, which has provided policy support for the comprehensive and systematic development of future schools from theory to practice, as stipulated by the documents of the Ministry of Education.

Wang Su, director of the Future School Laboratory and the International and Comparative Education Institute of the China National Institute for Education Research, introduced the background of the establishment of the Future School Research Community and the Future School Innovation Program.

In 2013, the China National Institute for Education Research launched the China Future School Innovation Program, and in 2014, established the Future School Laboratory. It has conducted in-depth research in areas such as learning spaces, learning methods, curriculum structure, and organizational management, and has received enthusiastic responses and extensive support from primary and secondary schools across the country. The program has been successfully selected as a best practice case in global mobile learning by UNESCO, and has successfully completed the research tasks of the "Future School 1.0" phase.

Furthermore, in order to advance the research on future schools, clarify cognitive confusions in a timely manner, address deep-seated problems, and provide decision-making service research, the "Future School 2.0" Innovation Program is about to be released, and the Future School Research Community has emerged.

As a company dedicated to advancing education through technology, TAL Education has been committed to exploring new models of education for the past 17 years. They have continued to deepen their involvement in cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence and neuroscience with education.

In recent years, TAL Education has opened up its Wisdom Education Open Platform to the industry and has been providing educational and technological products and solutions for research, technology, and teaching, empowering educational and training institutions comprehensively, and promoting and leading the industry's transformation and development.

In the seminar on that day, Jack, General Manager of Magic School of TAL Smart Education Open Platform Business Unit, elaborated on the changes brought by technology to education and the new characteristics of future education within the theme of "Future Education under the Wave of New Technological Revolution". He emphasized that under the impetus of the new technological wave, TAL will continue to work alongside the industry to promote the implementation of practices related to future education.

After joining the Future School Research Community, TAL Education will, under the guidance of the Future School Laboratory of the China National Institute for Education Research, systematically explore the Chinese model of future school practices, and pioneer research into the best practices of the off-campus education system for future schools, exploring long-term mechanisms for the deep integration of information technology with education and teaching.

It is reported that at the 2020 TAL Education Intelligent Education Conference, which opened on July 28th, TAL Education will officially launch the Future School Research Project for off-campus systems based on the Future School Laboratory of the China National Institute for Education Research, and will carry out long-term tracking of its explorations and practices in areas such as curriculum system reform, changes in classroom forms, and optimization of school management and governance models. Periodic research results will be released, and by establishing a group of benchmark schools, efforts will be made to encourage them to play a leading role and provide practical references for the improvement of the quality of off-school education.
