The four moments of the good future charity people: being trusted, being expected, love and being loved.

From embracing the children of the working children's school to teaching long-distance children with a phone; from transforming a neglected "warehouse" into a primary school library to taking pictures with rehabilitation patients. The good future people from all over the country are experiencing their own moments of public welfare at different times and projects - they are trusted, expected, and loved.

With the participation of all the good future people in the staff public welfare platform "Public Welfare Map," countless such moments are recorded. These moments come from various public welfare projects participated by the good future people: teaching support for working children's schools, Sunshine Ward School, Weilan Library, Qing Kuihua Mentorship Program, and Love Walking……

On the occasion of the first anniversary of the launch of the Public Welfare Map, we have recorded 4 good future annual public welfare figures, each of whom has experienced touching moments in public welfare activities.

He Xiaolin, a Chinese language teacher at Xueersi Dawayi, teaches children at the hospital school, and teachers who teach him have to wear masks to avoid affecting the children's health.

"I feel trusted"

The Sunshine Ward School project, initiated by the Beijing Sunshine Charity Foundation, provides free education and related services for long-term hospitalized children, represented by young leukemia patients. A large number of good future people have participated in this within the country, ensuring that the children enjoy the right to education. Since 2018, good future volunteers have helped guide 5,239 leukemia children.

On December 16, 2018, Beijing Sunshine Ward School.

Before the class, a third-grade boy named Xiaotian messes around with another boy in the class, who teases him, calls him "little baldy," and even tries to grab his hat. Xiaotian, who was in the middle of playing, suddenly got angry and made a gesture to chase the other boy.

This scene was seen by Chinese language teacher He Xiaolin. Since September of that year, this Henan girl has insisted on teaching a one-and-a-half-hour Chinese language class every Sunday afternoon at the hospital school. The hospital school is mostly white blood cancer patients. Hair loss and a weakened immune system caused by radiation and chemotherapy have made the mask and hat a must-have for every patient.

To avoid affecting the children's health, teachers who are doing public welfare in the hospital must not only wear masks but also pay attention to the children's movements during breaks to prevent the already fragile children from falling or bumping into something.

On that day, it was also Xiaotian's last day of treatment before going home. After listening to Teacher He's last class, he asked to take a photo with her.

Facing the camera, He Xiaolin took off her mask. Xiaotian also took off his mask and hat, and willingly showed his thin hairline. This boy, who was angry just now at being called "little baldy," was now completely unrestrained when taking a photo with his teacher. Facing the camera, the two of them put their heads together and smiled.

In that moment, He Xiaolin felt great trust. She pressed the shutter and captured the moment. After taking the picture, she hugged Xiaotian again.

"I feel trusted."

Recalling the scene that day, Teacher He suddenly choked up: "Sincerity and trust between people soften your heart, and you feel that all the effort is worthwhile."

Weiqiannan, a math teacher at the Shijiazhuang Branch of Xueersi, teaches Little Thunder, a leukemia patient, via WeChat video from Hohhot. In order for Little Thunder to see the operation process clearly, she needs to write with one hand and hold her phone with the other to record.

"I will keep teaching as long as I can"

In addition to offline tutoring, good future public welfare people also provide online one-on-one tutoring for some critically ill children. Since September 2018, the good future has provided "Hope Online" and "Xuetang" courses for 3,000 leukaemia children in 30 wards in 16 cities across the country. It combines "offline + online" and "inside hospital + outside hospital" to share high-quality education.

When Weiqiannan connected to the WeChat video, she saw Little Thunder again. As a math teacher at the Shijiazhuang branch of Xueersi, she has been tutoring Little Thunder, who is in the third grade in Hohhot, via WeChat video since September 2018 for two to three hours every week.

Little Thunder is a 9-year-old boy who is on a break from school and is in the recovery phase from leukemia. He is cheerful, loud, and speaks freely and lively.

But that day, Little Thunder's eyes drooped and he asked, dejectedly, "Why didn't we have a class last week?"

Ms. Wei suddenly realized that the tutoring had been suspended for a week during the National Day holiday. Although she had informed Little Thunder's mother in advance, she did not expect it to affect Little Thunder's mood. She quickly explained to the child.

"I thought you didn't want to teach me anymore," Little Thunder said with relief.

For a moment, Wei Qianman was deeply moved. She understood that despite his illness, Little Thunder's intelligence far exceeds that of his peers, and he is more eager to receive tutoring than others. Once a teacher gives up on him, his young mind would inevitably be hit hard.

Thinking of Little Thunder, Teacher Wei felt he was adorable: smart from head to toe. When faced with questions he didn't understand, he would hesitatingly let the teacher provide the answers first. If he found that he made a mistake, he would quickly correct it with his hands. After class, this chubby boy would show her the plants he grew and talk about the games he played.

After thinking this through, Teacher Wei decided that, as long as she was capable, she would continue to provide free tutoring to Little Thunder until he recovered and returned to school. In her view, if she were to stop teaching, a new teacher and Little Thunder would need some time to get acquainted and adjust to each other, which would be greatly detrimental to Little Thunder's learning. Although voluntary teaching took up her personal rest time, the thought of Little Thunder's eagerness made her willing.

The free tutoring is voluntary, but the quality is not discounted. Since Teacher Wei, who teaches via WeChat video, cannot see Little Thunder's handwriting, she asked the parents to send Little Thunder's test papers and exercise books. She not only did some of the corrections, but also found that Little Thunder always forgets to carry and borrow when doing vertical addition and subtraction. Therefore, she provided targeted tutoring, and the trouble Long-standing points were completely corrected.

During the Spring Festival this year, Little Thunder's mother once again asked while paying a New Year's visit, "Do you want to teach my child this year?"

"Yes!" Teacher Wei replied-"I will keep teaching as long as I can."

Zhang Meng, a staff member of the administration department of the good future group, and more than 30 colleagues from the administration, finance, and purchasing departments of the company opened a neglected library for the children at the working children's school and voluntarily provided reading services for the children.

"They need a 'living' library"

Weilan Library is a public welfare project initiated by the civil public welfare organization New Citizen Program, and it is a library for mobile children in the working children's schools and communities where migrant workers are concentrated. Among these public welfare libraries, there is a public welfare library pioneered and operated by good future public welfare people.

The books were upside down on the shelves, and the tables were covered with a thick layer of dust. The shelves against the wall were filled with musical instruments, and cobwebs hung in the corner... When Zhang Meng first saw the neglected bookhouse at the school for working children, she felt it was more like a "warehouse."

Due to a lack of teaching staff, this 30-square-meter book room with over 10,000 books has been "dormant."

In the fall of 2018, the children of the school suddenly discovered that every now and then, there would be a group of young people wearing masks and gloves, holding mops, brooms, and rags, coming to the book room to do a thorough cleaning. The miscellaneous items piled indoors have been thoroughly cleared out, and the spider webs and dust have been cleaned. The previously casually placed books were removed one by one, sorted, classified, and re-organized back onto the shelves by category. These reorganized books were then labeled and bar-coded.

These more than 20 young people are from the administration department of the good future group, and Zhang Meng is among them. What they have to do is work hard for the school to operate the library and create a library for the children of the working children's school.

The clever children had an inkling that a few people kept running up and asking, "Big brothers and sisters, when can we borrow books?" Each time they asked more, the idea of these good future people running the library became stronger.

Every piece of ground has been cleaned and every book has been dusted. Since everyone has a job, the activities mainly took place on weekends and other off-duty times, and the cleaning and sorting alone took a month. In this large charity cleanup, some even brought their husbands and children to work together.

To operate the lending, all books need to be scanned and entered into the system, also, some books could not be directly scanned and entered, so the good future public welfare people had to manually enter the information of each book such as the title, author, publisher, etc. Just like that, nearly two months later, 12,000 books had been entered. To ensure smooth operation, they also accepted professional library training provided by the project-launching organization.

On December 27, 2018, the "Weilan20 Hall" — "Good Future Reading Room," completely operated by the good future people, officially opened. Zhang Meng, who was entirely involved in "awakening" this little library, was appointed as the head librarian.

A photo on opening day shows children lining up in two columns at the entrance, waiting to enter the library, and the head of the line wearing a red scarf and a smile on their face.

Currently, every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, more than 30 employees from the administration, finance, and procurement departments of the good future group take turns to run the library at the working children's school between 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Two individuals are responsible for each shift, one for borrowing books and issuing library cards, and the other for returning books to their designated places.

As the library opened during lunchtime, many children often skipped lunch and ran to borrow books. Some children even sat on the floor to read. Once the library is open, it fills up with children.

Zhang Meng admitted that initially, they only thought this was a small matter, until they saw the children's moment, they suddenly realized how meaningful a seemingly small matter could be.

At the end of last year, this group of good future people received New Year's greeting cards made by the children. Among the stack of colorful greeting cards, there was one written in pencil that said, "Although I don't have colored pens, I wish my brothers and sisters a smooth work and a happy New Year."

"They really need a 'living' library," Zhang Meng said.

Xiao Yuqi, an English teacher at Libu English under the good future, is seen in the daily work of Libu English.

"They feedback love to me, and that's happiness"

In May 2017, the Libu English, a subsidiary of the good future, joined forces with the Good Future Public Welfare Foundation to visit two working children's schools in Beijing and give the children a lively English class. After field research, the volunteers reset the course based on the children's English level, and the carefully crafted English course was warmly welcomed by the children. Since then, the public welfare class for Libu English has been held every Monday for one week.

For the first time, walking on the way to support the working children's school, Xiao Yuqi was thinking while carrying a bag of cartoon hand puppets about what kind of school and children she would face.

Upon entering the school, through the small playground to the second floor of the teaching building, everything seemed normal. It wasn't until she found the first-year class 2 for tutoring that she let her guard down and then heightened her guard again - "Why is the door broken?"

On the door of the classroom is a white sheet of paper with a red flower, and it has replaced the glass that should have been there, also blocking the view inside the room.

Pushing the door open, she saw more than 30 children sitting in the classroom, with desks, chairs, and stools all filled with children.

The children rushed over. Several boys rushed in front and surrounded the 26-year-old female teacher, asking curiously about her intentions, and the colorful cartoon hand puppets she was carrying.

"Big sister, what are you holding?" "Big sister, are you here to teach us?"

More and more people crowded around, some children hugged Xiao's waist in the chaos, and someone clung to her arm. This tall, thin girl was surrounded by the children and was taken from the classroom door to the podium.

Xiao Yuqi did not feel awkward at this scene. She had taught English for several years in lower grades, and she understood the nature of children. The children's huddling and hugging her was the unique way of welcoming her.

At that moment, her previous nervousness was completely dispelled.

Since May 2018, Xiao Yuqi has been visiting the school to teach English every Wednesday afternoon during the school semester. Since the children were lacking in basic skills, she had to start from the beginning. A year passed, and what used to be an English class that required a lot of help from Chinese explanations, most of the time, can now get direct feedback from the children. The most mischievous student in the class used to be the most active child in the class

The initial embrace upon the first meeting, seemed to be a recurring habit.

"Every time I go to class, the classroom will instantly be buzzing with energy," Ms. Xiao said. To avoid disturbing the children's learning, she would wait to enter the classroom until after class starts. Every teacher in the classroom has an immense love for me.

A teacher from the school told Xiao Yuqi that in the second semester of the first year, the school allowed children to write the names of the teachers they liked, and almost all the students in the class wrote "Teacher Xiao".

"When I teach them, they feedback love to me, and that's happiness," Xiao Yuqi said.

(The names Xiaotian and Little Thunder are pseudonyms)
