Today, at the GES2019 Future Education Conference, Study and Think, a subsidiary of Tomorrow Advancing Life, officially released the "Fall in Love with Learning - Future Learner Learning Trend Observation" white paper.
The white paper shows that future learning behaviors will present six major trends: "proactive learning, self-directed learning, global classroom, tool-assisted learning, learning through play, immersive learning."
At the conference, friends from various industries at home and abroad who continue to focus on the education industry, learned about the interpretation of these six trends one by one, and also discussed the topic of "future learners" together during the conference.
Why observe future learning trends?
By the end of 2019, children born in 2000 have already reached adulthood, and the "post-2000s" are also about to enter this world. Today, the "post-2000s" and "post-2010s" who are active in elementary and secondary schools have been born in an era of China's economic take-off and the reorganization of the world order. They stare at their phones and tablets, use AI and VR, and experience rich and diverse cultures and lifestyles. They are more keenly aware: from an early age, they think about "who am I" and "where do I want to go," and rationally judge "how can I become the person I want to be."

Since 2016, Study and Think has realized that concepts and behavioral practices related to education and learning are undergoing a transformation. The new generation of children, or the new generation of learners, they have become a generation that loves learning and actively embraces learning - they not only learn subject knowledge, but also pursue fundamental abilities; they seek personalized learning, make good use of tools, and achieve maximized learning efficiency and effectiveness; they break the boundaries between learning, entertainment, and socialization, and expand learning scenarios, making learning more interesting.
Study and Think "Future Learner" Learning Trend Observation
What will the future learners be like?
Since the 21st century, the changes in the times and technological innovations have brought about profound changes in educational forms and learning behaviors. From the past pursuit of education and social recognition, to gradually realizing the importance of "learning ability," more and more parents and children are beginning to pay attention to individual development and self-realization.
Based on 16 years of teaching practice and continuous observation and research on learners, Study and Think has deeply explored the changes in the new generation of learners, forming the "Future Learner Learning Trend Observation," demonstrating the new meaning of learning in a new environment.
At the conference, Shao Dandan, head of Study and Think's brand management department, officially released the six major future learning trends and shared Study and Think's thoughts and exploration on future learning.

Shao Dandan and everyone present, "Faced with these trends, we can only truly implement the educational concept of 'inspiring motivation, cultivating abilities' in various aspects such as teaching, research, and faculty, and empower children from the three dimensions of learning motivation, learning abilities, and learning environment in order to truly enable children to learn actively, scientifically, and efficiently, and thus achieve learning progress and mastery of knowledge extension and application abilities."
Through this "observation," we understand that the new generation of learners have more opportunities to see the world from an early age, they "proactively learn" and explore individually through extensive experimentation at an earlier age; they "self-directed learning" and pay more attention to the physical and mental health of the individual; they are exposed to diverse cultures from an early age, and have their "global classroom" wherever they go.
They have "tool-assisted learning" when learning, making good use of tools and methods to plan and manage learning, and promote the achievement of learning goals; they often "learn through play," enjoying learning in daily entertainment, content creation, and social relationships, blurring the boundaries between play and learning; they are more "immersive in learning," fully mobilizing sensory experience in specific learning scenarios with the help of learning-friendly tools, making learning more efficient and enjoyable.
Faced with such future learners, at the conference, brands under the Study and Think system that are well-known to everyone, such as Study and Think International, Study and Think AI Zhikang, and Little Monkey Programming, also collectively appeared, demonstrating a series of explorations and beneficial attempts made to empower the new generation of learners.
In the past, learning mostly took place in the classroom; now, learning has broken the boundaries of scenes and can happen anytime, anywhere. Children will actively use technological products to plan and manage the learning process, monitor learning effects, and find more efficient, more scientific, and more personalized ways of learning.
A sneak peek at the six major trends
From "teach me" to "help me up, I still want to learn"; from "learning" to "learning how to learn." This is the important embodiment of Study and Think's "life-long beneficial ability." Study and Think takes "inspiring motivation, cultivating abilities" as its educational concept, and is committed to enabling every child to become a "future learner." Today's release of such a trend report is to show how the children of the future will learn, fall in love with learning, and help themselves grow through learning.
Looking back at the past 16 years, "inspiring motivation, cultivating abilities" is the best summary of Study and Think's educational concept, as well as the spiritual connotation of Study and Think. In the future, Study and Think will continue to focus on the needs of the new generation of learners for educational products and services. Through product upgrades and service innovations, with knowledge as the carrier and abilities as the core, children will be able to gain a wonderful learning experience and "life-long beneficial ability" and become a better version of themselves.
