On January 9, Western US time, Alex Peng, President of TAL Education Group, delivered a keynote speech at the TMT Media CES Talk to China Stage.

At this event, Alex Peng delivered a keynote speech titled "Intelligent Manufacturing in China, Global Education Solutions." He stated that as an education technology company, Xueersi, by studying the essence of education and integrating AI technology, is "intelligently manufacturing" future-oriented educational products to help every learner improve their abilities. He cited the latest series of products released by Xueersi, such as the Xueersi flagship learning machine and Mobby Kids' Learning Pad, as examples. "These intelligent learning products can bring new learning motivation to children, empower their learning abilities, and integrate into a learning environment that promotes parent-child joint growth in the intelligent era," Peng explained.

The education industry has always been closely linked to technological advancements. Over the past century, new technologies like television, computers, and the Internet have been applied to education. "But significant potential remains for education's digital transformation," Peng summarized the challenges of the education industry's transformation as the "impossible triangle," which means it is difficult to simultaneously achieve high-quality teaching, personalized learning, and acceptable costs. However, he believes that the education industry stands at a transformative inflection point, where advancements in AI technology, particularly generative AI and large language models, may finally resolve this trilemma and revolutionize education.

Peng predicts that AI will bring about three major transformations in education: first, from "knowledge-focused" to "ability-focused"; second, from "educator-centered" to "learner-centered"; and third, from a "labor-intensive" industry to an "AI-driven, computing power-intensive" industry. "Xueersi is moving from 'labor-intensive' to 'computing power-intensive'," Peng said. Founded in 2003, Xueersi has focuses on understanding the essence of education, studying the science of learning, and helping everyone learn more scientifically. The company embarked on a major transformation in 2021 to explore AI-era educational innovation.

For instance, in content creation, Xueersi has integrated generative AI technology. Taking question creation as an example, many processes that previously required manual review can now be replaced with AI technology. This not only greatly improves the speed of content generation but also further reduces costs. In scientific research, Xueersi focuses on educational large models, independently developing the MathGPT (Nine Chapters) large model centered on science education to improve the accuracy of solving math problems. Currently, this large model technology has been applied in Xueersi's learning hardware, providing students with problem-solving processes in familiar and enjoyable ways and engaging in heuristic dialogues.

During his speech, Peng showcased the intelligent learning products exhibited at CES—Xueersi flagship learning machine and Mobby Kids' Learning Pad—aimed at supporting and practicing the concept of lifelong learning from three key aspects. In terms of learning motivation, Xueersi integrates 20 years of educational research accumulation and teaching experience with millions of children, focusing on core design concepts that stimulate children's interest in learning and guide them to achieve self-directed learning. Regarding learning ability, as a construction unit approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology as the "National New Generation AI Open Innovation Platform for Smart Education," Xueersi bases its efforts on years of exploration in the AI field, combined with the latest MathGPT (Nine Chapters) educational large model, aiming to enhance "learning computing power" and provide customized learning content for each child. Additionally, with family learning gradually becoming a primary learning scene outside the classroom, Xueersi hopes to integrate family learning environments via smart learning hardware, promoting joint growth between parents and children.

The UNESCO's latest report, "Reimagining Our Futures Together: A New Social Contract for Education," mentions that future education can unite humanity to shape sustainable and peaceful futures for all, upholding social, economic, and environmental justice.
