On September 12th, the second lecture of Xueersi moral education series was opened. Shi Zhongying, executive deputy dean, professor, and doctoral supervisor of the School of Education of Tsinghua University, gave a lecture on the topic of "A Brief Talk on Teacher Morality and Ethics - Construction of Teacher's Moral Values" to more than 20,000 Xueersi teachers.

Shi Zhongying expressed that cultivating morality and educating people is not only the main task of public education, but also an important force in private education. General Secretary Xi Jinping proposed the importance of strengthening the construction of teacher's morality and ethics, adhering to the unity of teaching and educating people, words and deeds, pursuing knowledge and addressing social concerns, and academic freedom and academic norms, guiding teachers to be virtuous, to cultivate morality, and to teach with morality. Teachers in private education should pay more attention to the construction of their own moral values and ethics.
Shi Zhongying said that the construction of a teacher's value and quality is an important aspect of the construction of teacher's morality and ethics, and at the same time, a teacher's value and quality is also an important factor in shaping students' value and quality. Currently, some teachers' value and quality in reality have negative aspects, which have a detrimental impact on children's development. Continuously strengthening the construction of value and quality is also the common experience of all outstanding teachers' growth.

Subsequently, Shi Zhongying extracted the basic value and qualities of teachers from five dimensions: teacher and student, colleague, work, country, and self. The value and qualities that should be possessed when dealing with students include unconditional trust, sincere hope, heartfelt love, equality, consistent fairness, tolerance of errors and misunderstandings, empathy and understanding of students' situations, meaningful democratic management of the class, patient waiting for student progress, respect for unique individuality, and guidance for healthy personality, and so on.
Furthermore, he also proposed that teachers should have a sense of responsibility to the country and the nation, and should establish the mission of educating for the party and nurturing talents for the nation, to understand and love their own country, and to guide students to strive for the happiness of the people, the prosperity of the country, and the rejuvenation of the nation, and to always be aware of protecting the dignity of the country.
Finally, Shi Zhongying put forward the basic approaches to the construction of teacher's value and quality, including earnestly studying the important speeches of General Secretary Xi Jinping on "Four Good Teachers," "Four Guides," and "Great Teachers"; conducting discussions on teacher's value and quality at different levels and spectrum; summarizing the valuable experience of outstanding teachers in enhancing their own value and quality; learning from outstanding educators; reflecting on value and quality deviations in some education, teaching, and management problems (cases); emphasizing the significance of value and quality construction from the positive effects of teacher's value and quality construction; and summarizing and refining the core value and qualities that teachers should adhere to and believe in.

Yang Fuguang, the principal of Xueersi, expressed his gratitude to Professor Shi Zhongying for his lecture and encouraged all teachers to pay attention to teacher's morality and ethics in their future work, to focus more on the role of cultivating people while imparting knowledge, and to practice the concept of cultivating morality and educating people through practical actions.
More than 200 Xueersi teachers and 30 party member representatives attended the moral education class in person, and over 20,000 Xueersi teachers participated in the study through the live broadcast. Wan Yi, the president of the Public Affairs Department of TAL Education Group, and Wang Mian, the vice president of media and public relations of TAL Education Group, attended the event.
In May of this year, Xueersi officially launched the annual plan of the "Moral Education Series Class," targeting the extensive teachers' group, planning four learning courses around the themes of "love for the party and the nation, construction of teacher's morality and ethics, the new direction of national education in the new era, and the psychological health of young people." For the student group, two public welfare courses were launched: "My Country and I with Fireworks Eggs" and "General Grandfather Tells Stories," using a variety of educational formats to provide more children with patriotic education.
In the first phase, the "Moral Education Series Class" invited Ms. Zhou Bingde, the niece of Zhou Enlai, to tell stories about love for the party and the nation to more than 20,000 TAL teachers, which aroused strong responses among the teachers in TAL.
